Student Elections

It's 'Voting Period' at Northumbria, and I am very happy about this. I love being handed free sweets from someone who naively thinks i'm going to vote for them, then seeing the sad look on their face when I collect a cake from another candidate opposite them. Being materialistic ,borderline selfish and a student, I of course, will be voting for the candidate who offers me the best free food. The bag of crisps nearly sold it for me, except they were salt and vinegar.. Not my style. I loved the fortune cookie which said 'Vote Chung' inside - nice touch. However, my friend's cookie said exactly the same thing and I felt a little bit screwed over. Remaining undecided on who to vote for, there is one thing i'm sure of...

I will not be voting for the annoying people who felt the need to knock on my door this afternoon, rudely interrupting my weekly dose of glee AND offering no free gift. I would have been 100% fine with a doubles lolly and a leaflet but no. Instead I am given a 5 minute awkward door conversation about why to vote for this guy who has managed somehow to make his way into a locked building and harass upto 50 students. I really hope Jehovah's witnesses don't find their way in too, or my life is about to get pretty frustrating!

Catch up!

Haven't posted for a while, my bad!

Went home to Leicester last weekend which was nice. Ended up being surrounded by Yorkshire chavs on the train from Sheffield, usually this would annoy me but it actually turned out to be pretty amusing when the conductor came round and asked them why they had child tickets and were clearly 18 because they were drinking tesco own brand larger. When they insisted they were young enough to have the child tickets he kicked them off for underage drinking. I then saw out the window (no joke) one of them vomiting (midday) on the platform. Hardcore.

Also failed to give up anything for lent, I'm not really religious in anyway but I usually like to leach onto the spirit of it so I have an excuse to consume my own body weight in Easter eggs at the end of it. Why is it that chocolate is so much better in egg form? Probably because they are ridiculously expensive. Anyone who claims to have not been disappointed when they found out the large one in a cream egg Easter egg wasn't full of cream is a liar. So anyway I'm in pizza express with a friend yesterday and (while eating pizza) she tells me she's given up cheddar cheese for lent. She was genuinely shocked when she found out pizza has that on.

Anyway I'd better be off to start the gazillion assignments I have to do before Easter. Wish me luck!!

Diet Plan

A message for the guy on the treadmill next to me at the gym today:
I hate you.
You were running at 10 times the speed of me and you make me sick.

Anyway after coming home from the gym and eating a "sharing size" (haha) packet of sensations, I was feeling a little bit unfit - so using nutritional guidlines i've put forward a list of diet rules which from now on I shall be following. Feel free to use it too as I expect it to be very sucessful.

  1. One of the most healthy foods you can eat is obviously pizza. Pizza contains all the main food groups.
               -Carbohydrate - Base
               -Vegetables - Tomato Sauce
               -Protein - Pepperoni/chicken/sausage
               -Minerals - Calcium from cheese
  2. If you eat something and no one sees you, it has no calories.
  3. TV foods have no calories because they are part of the entertainment package.
  4. Whole foods are much better for you; Whole pies, whole cakes, whole chickens etc...
  5. Everytime you eat a piece of fruit or veg it cancels out an unhealthy food, so make good use of the corn on the cob at KFC.
  6. Pieces of biscuit contain no calories, the process of breaking causes calorie leakage.

Train Fail

So a couple of weekends ago I went to stay the weekend at my lovely boyfriend's house in Halifax (Yes it really is a place, not just a bank).

I always like to get to the platform at least half an hour before the train arrives because i'm a little bit OCD about these things. There was a train to London due to arrive about 15 minutes before mine, and I noticed it had got cancelled and then uncancelled. People seemed a little confused about this, and the train being cancelled again lead to even further confusion. Everyone was talking to each other about this, and a woman turned to me and gave me look as if to say "What the fuck is going on?!". Immediately my childish appetite to be part of the crowd kicked in, and I responded with "wow this is so annoying I don't know what to do now". Soon I was queen of the adjourned platform community, ranting about British rail and the cost of train tickets. Awkwardly for me though, the train was then uncancelled again. Everyone rushed on board and I almost thought i'd gotten away with it, when the original woman turned and said "aren't you getting on?!" I replied "no" and hung my head in shame.
